You’ve read the books.
Listened to the podcasts.
Maybe you have even couples therapy and all the advice the therapist suggested.

And somehow… you’re still having the same fight.

New words, but the same pattern and spiral.

You’re stuck in a loop no one taught you how to break.

That little voice saying your relationship is “too complicated”?
It’s lying.

Most couples therapy wasn’t built for relationships like yours, neurodiverse brains, intense cycles, open relationships, or just feeling "in your head".

You get the “do date nights” advice…
but never the part that actually matters.

These are the loops running your relationship.

Open/ENM dynamics creating constant comparison

Always arguing about sex

Feeling like roommates

Feeling ignored but can’t pinpoint why

Fear of saying the wrong thing keeps you quiet

The “why can’t we just understand each other?” spiral

Shutdowns that feel like disconnection

Avoiding intimacy to prevent conflict

Little things
become BIG
things

feeling Overwhelmed in arguments

not feeling heard or understood

it is always
a debate

i am tired of
trying first

we act like we are just friends

Most couples therapy talks about communication skills.
That’s helpful… until it isn’t.

If your nervous system is hijacked,
if old wounds are still raw,
 or desire doesn’t line up,
“just talk it out” won’t get you anywhere.

Here, neither one of you is the problem.
I see it as your relationship against the pattern.
I know that those patterns can be found, understood, and changed.

I look at the loops actually running your relationship:
The shutdowns,
The pursuit,
The sexual disconnect,
The same arguments that leave you both drained.

Together we map them, understand what’s really happening, and build something different.

This is therapy for relationships that are complicated, messy, intense, and worth it.

Expect direct conversations, a little humor, maybe a curse word or two, and guidance on how to break the cycle and show up differently and do something that actually works.

Sex  Therapy in Newark, Ohio

I’m Sarah Newcomer, an IMFT, Certified Sex Therapist, and the Relationship Specialist behind Relationship Reset Therapy. I work exclusively with couples and CNM/ENM partnerships to untangle stuck patterns and actually rebuild closeness.

I’ve got ADHD, anxiety, and a highly analytical brain, so I get how relationships can get messy, mentally, emotionally, and yes, sometimes sexually. Adulting, shifting agreements, endless communication… it can feel like too much. I’ve been there.

My approach is a blend of Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy(EFT). EFT is based in attachment theory and is a science-backed method, considered the "gold standard" working with couples. I blend empathy, humor, and real talk in my sessions. No endless spirals, no turning every fight into a negotiation, or generic "do date nights". Just clarity, regulation, and working towards connection that actually lasts.
